We partner with businesses in a variety of industries including, but not limited to: Agriculture, Oil & Gas, Water/Wastewater, Timber, Food Processing, Mining.The Panel Shop Buyer is an entry level position responsible for purchasing and expediting materials required for the assembly of UL508 industrial control panels. This role works closely with engineering, production, and project management to ensure accurate, cost-effective, and on-time procurement of electrical components and hardware needed to meet production schedules.You must also be: excited about the opportunity to share, operate, and innovate within our system of core values. Technical and tenacious - you're eager to learn and grow in an industrial electrical distribution environment, able to learn new tasks quickly - you love to roll up your sleeves, dig in, and work hard.Job perks for full-time employees include: paid holidays, profit sharing, paid flexible time off, health savings account, paid healthcare.Requirements:Review bills of material (BOMs) and generate purchase orders for panel buildsProcure electrical components including: PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, breakers, contactors, relays, overloads, terminals, wire, duct, enclosures, panel hardwareMonitor supplier lead times and proactively expedite critical itemsCommunicate material shortages and risks to production and project teamsMaintain accurate pricing, lead times, and vendor records in ERP/MRP systemCoordinate with engineering on part substitutions, revisions, and obsolescenceEnsure all materials meet UL508A requirements and project specificationsSupport inventory control efforts: maintain min/max inventory levels to support accurate stock control. Assist with cycle counts to ensure inventory accuracy.
Reduce excess and obsolete stock through ongoing review and cleanup. Track open orders and follow through to delivery and receiptAssist with job costing and quoting by obtaining vendor pricingIdentify cost-saving opportunities and alternative sourcing optionsNo previous experience is required for this position but relevant experience is a plus.
