Painter

As a Painter, you will:

Prepare surfaces and apply various coatings such as primers, paints, epoxies, urethane, stains, and sealers to building systems, machinery, manufacturing equipment and office furnishings.

Evaluate condition of the surface to be covered and select a surface preparation technique and material consistent with the type and condition of surface, coating material applied, exposure and expected condition of use. Remove old surface coating and cleans away dirt, rust, grease or other surface impurities which would deter adhesion qualities of the coating material.

Select, prepare, and apply coatings to surface using brush, rollers, or various types of spray equipment.

Perform other task such as sign painting, engraving, and installation. Work includes the use of computer-controlled software and automated engraving machines.

Perform lead paint abatement that requires a professional certification.
