Industrial Painter

Perform industrial painting on wind turbine towers, including both interior and exterior surfaces of iron and steel structures. This role focuses on high-quality paint application, surface preparation, and production-oriented work, with spray painting and paint booth experience considered a strong advantage.

Responsibilities
  • Perform industrial painting on wind turbine towers, including interior and exterior surfaces of iron and steel structures.
  • Prepare surfaces for painting through sanding, blasting, and other paint prep techniques to ensure proper adhesion and finish quality.
  • Operate spray guns, paint sprayers, and related equipment to apply industrial coatings in a consistent and efficient manner.
  • Work in paint booths and open industrial areas as required, following established procedures for safe and effective paint application.
  • Carry out sandblasting and other blasting processes to clean and prepare metal surfaces prior to painting.
  • Monitor paint quality, coverage, and finish, making adjustments to equipment and techniques as needed to meet production standards.
  • Handle industrial paints and coatings safely, including mixing, thinning, and cleaning equipment according to guidelines.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, including proper storage and disposal of paints, solvents, and blasting media.
  • Follow all safety protocols and use appropriate personal protective equipment while working in industrial indoor and outdoor environments.
  • Collaborate with production teams to meet daily output goals and support efficient workflow in the painting and finishing process.
Essential Skills
  • Hands-on experience with industrial painting on metal structures such as iron and steel towers.
  • Proficiency in paint preparation techniques, including blasting, sanding, and surface cleaning.
  • Ability to operate spray guns, paint sprayers, and related industrial painting equipment.
  • Experience working in paint booths and open industrial environments.
  • Knowledge of industrial paint types and coatings and how to apply them safely and effectively.
  • Capability to perform sandblasting and other blasting processes for surface preparation.
  • Strong attention to detail to ensure high-quality finishes and consistent coverage.
  • Ability to work in a production-focused environment and meet output and quality targets.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience with both spray painting and booth painting in an industrial setting.
  • Background in industrial paint prep, including sanding and surface conditioning.
  • Comfort working on large-scale structures such as wind turbine towers.
  • Familiarity with safe handling and storage of industrial paints, solvents, and blasting media.
  • Ability to work both indoors and outdoors in a very industrial environment.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Pueblo, CO.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $23.00/hr.
