Position Overview
Stand-By Personnel is seeking a dependable Industrial Painter to join a growing steel fabrication team in Oklahoma City. This position is responsible for spray painting structural steel beams and building components in a covered outdoor production environment while maintaining strict quality and safety standards.
The ideal candidate is comfortable working in an industrial setting, wearing required protective equipment, and producing consistent, high-quality finishes on fabricated steel products.
Required Experience & Skills
• Previous industrial, construction, or general labor experience required
• Experience using industrial spray guns preferred
• Ability to stand for extended periods throughout the shift
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly
• Must be clean shaven to ensure a proper respirator seal
• Comfortable wearing a respirator and full paint suit for extended periods
• Ability to follow OSHA regulations and all company safety procedures
• Manufacturing education or certifications are a plus
• Reliable attendance and strong work ethic
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
• Spray paint structural steel beams and building components using industrial spray equipment
• Apply one or more specified coating systems according to production requirements
• Properly prepare steel surfaces before painting to ensure coating adhesion and finish quality
• Wear all required PPE, including respirator and protective paint suit, throughout painting operations
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
• Follow all OSHA regulations and company safety policies
• Assist with moving, positioning, and staging steel materials for painting as needed
• Inspect finished work to verify coating quality and production standards
• Perform additional production and painting duties as assigned
Preferred Qualifications
• Previous industrial painting or steel coating experience
• Experience working in structural steel fabrication environments
• Knowledge of industrial coatings, spray equipment, and paint preparation techniques
• Familiarity with surface preparation and quality inspection procedures
Physical Requirements
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly
• Frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, and repetitive physical activity throughout the shift
• Ability to safely work while wearing a respirator, paint suit, and all required PPE
• Comfortable working in a covered outdoor environment around fabrication equipment and steel materials
Work Environment
• Covered outdoor steel fabrication facility
• Exposure to industrial spray equipment, structural steel, paint fumes, and fabrication operations
• Fast-paced production environment focused on safety, quality, and productivity
• Regular overtime available, including Saturdays, based on production needs
