Job Description
Clean, prepare and paint boilers and parts. Mix all paint products and perform functions with little or no supervision.
Requirements
FUNCTIONS TO BE PERFORMED:
  • Clean and inspect parts prior to painting
  • Do all required masking on areas not to be painted
  • Paint the boilers and all parts with the acceptable quality of finish
  • Follow all procedures for a quality lasting paint surface
  • Follow proper guidelines for storage and inventory of chemicals and paints
  • Be able to mix and spray all products used
  • Keep equipment clean and work area clean
  • Perform routine maintenance on paint booth and paint equipment
  • Perform other related duties as required
PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Able to communicate verbally and in writing
  • Must be capable of following verbal and/or written instructions
  • Capable of lifting up to 70 pounds alone and 100 pounds with assistance
  • Able to work from ladders and scaffolding
  • Able to bend, stoop, twist and squat
  • Must be able to work in semi-awkward positions
  • Working knowledge of and proper use of all safety equipment
  • Must have knowledge of MSDS information as it pertains to chemicals and paints and know where they are located
  • Ability to retain information with regard to chemicals and paint materials
  • No allergic reactions to paint, dust, or other related paint materials
  • Be able to determine the proper surface condition for acceptance of paint and prepare if required
  • Must have full knowledge of quality requirements to produce acceptable finish paint
