Painter Maintenance TechnicianA Painter Maintenance Technician's primary role is to plan and perform a variety of painting, projects and refinishing activities required to ensure maintenance of facility aesthetics. Performs additional department related duties as requested by Facility Management Team.Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesPrepares area(s) to be painted by cleaning, or if necessary, scraping, sanding, patching, and masking of adjacent surfaces prior to painting, papering, texturing, etc.Paint, maintain and repair painted, wall-covered, stained, and varnished surfaces of building structures, rooms, furniture, and equipment throughout the facilitiesPrepare and paint surfaces using techniques and tools including, but not limited to, measuring surfaces, applying spackle and plaster, mixing paint, matching paint, and using brushes, rollers, and spray-gunsInstall and repair covered wall and ceiling surfaces including, but not limited to, hanging vinyl paper, fabric, and foil wall coveringsMaintain and repair caulked, grouted, wood and masonry surfaces requiring staining, varnishing, and lacqueringManage related supply inventoryAdditional duties as assignedFollows OSHA/MSDS guidelines with respect to use of hazardous chemicals; uses proper ventilation when using paint removers, varnishes, cleaners, etc.Familiarizes him/herself with storage and disposal laws, regulations, codes, etc.Thoroughly cleans area, supplies, and equipment when project is completedEducation/Experience5 to 10 years of experience as a professional painterPrivate club, hotel or resort experience preferred.Experience in the construction field is a plus.Must be able to work flexible schedules which may include nights, weekends, and holidays.Ability to comfortably work in an intensely deadline-oriented environment.Ability to use systems and technology to manage work ordersQualifications/Skills(To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Must be at least 18 years old and available to work a varied schedule that includes nights, weekends, and holidays.Must be able to read, write and speak in English.Licenses or CertificatesValid driver's license.CPR/AED/First Aid certification a plus.Certifications and training in painting is a plus.Physical RequirementsWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to feel, handle and operate; reach with hands and arms; and see, talk and hear.The employee is frequently required to walk, bend, kneel, climb, crawl into small spaces, push, pull, reach and occasionally lift and/or move 50 lbs.Must be able to use step ladders, extension ladders, and 6ft scaffolding.The job consists of both inside and outside work.
