Position Summary -Sprays surfaces of trucks, buses, vans or other vehicles a assigned with protective or decorative material, such as paint, enamel, glaze, gel-coat, or lacquer, using spray gun.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
• Review repair estimates for painting instructions and create plan to perform work.
• Provide proper tools and tool storage for performing assigned tasks.
• Disassemble and re-assemble of truck parts and accessories for access to painted surfaces.
• Sand, prime and prep painted surfaces for painting.
• Operating air operated sanding and grinding equipment
• Perform all taping and masking in a professional manner to insure a quality and acceptable finished product.
• Ability to identify that surfaces are paint ready before applying paint products
• Proper training for applying paint products and knowledge of paint mixing procedures.
• Operating pressurized spray equipment
• Familiar with safety equipment for painting, respirators, body protection ect.
• Ability to provide a quality and acceptable paint finish for all paint assignments
• Other duties as assigned

Education
One year certificate from a fully accredited college or technical school
and
Experience
Minimum of two years related experience and/or training
An equivalent combination of education and experience is acceptable
Specific Experience
• Automotive/truck body painting
• Paint mixing
• Knowledge of respirator systems
