Sanford Health is seeking a Board Certified/Board Eligible Pain Medicine PM&R physician to join a thriving outpatient practice in Rapid City, South Dakota. This role focuses on comprehensive musculoskeletal and interventional pain care, offering a Monday-Friday schedule with no call. The position provides an excellent opportunity to work in a busy practice with high demand, supported by a strong referral network and Advanced Practice Providers.

Practice Info

  • Outpatient practice
  • Mix of clinic and procedural days
  • 30-40 patients per day depending on schedule

Responsibilities

  • Perform musculoskeletal evaluations for acute and chronic pain conditions
  • Provide non-surgical sports medicine and concussion care
  • Perform interventional pain management procedures
  • Conduct ultrasound-guided injections
  • Manage neuropathic pain
  • Perform EMG/NCS diagnostics and Spinal cord stimulation
  • Administer BOTOX injections
  • Provide consultation and nonsurgical therapeutic treatment to inpatients and outpatients of all ages with physical impairments or disabilities

Compensation

  • Annual compensation range of $500,000-$575,000 for the first two years of the employment contract
  • Estimated potential to exceed compensation floor from personally performed wRVUs
  • $100,000 retention incentive to be paid if you remain a 1.0 FTE for 3 years

Requirements

  • M.D. or D.O. degree
  • Successful completion of a hospital affiliated Physical Medicine and Rehab residency program accredited by the ACGME, the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) or the Royal College of Physician and Surgeons of Canada
  • BE/BC in Pain Medicine PM&R
  • If not board certified at the time of application but completed residency within the last five years, must achieve board certification within five years from the date of completion of residency training
  • Demonstrate active involvement in at least 25 Physical Medicine and Rehab cases in the last 12 months (for applicants not applying directly out of residency)
