Pain Management Physician

Sanford Health's multi-subspecialty hospital-based Pain Medicine group is seeking a BE/BC fellowship-trained Pain Medicine or Interventional Spine physician for a full-time position in Fargo, North Dakota. As the largest pain clinic in the state, the department offers a multi-disciplinary practice style, strong referral networks, and an outpatient service schedule operating on weekdays only with no weekend or evening call. Providers will join a supportive, collaborative team delivering comprehensive patient care within a Level I Trauma and Comprehensive Stroke Center.

• Department has a multi-disciplinary practice style
• Four procedure rooms in hospital outpatient based department (20-30 procedures/day)
• Strong referral network from both internal and external providers
• Very strong relationship with Neurosurgery who is a primary contributor to the spine clinic within the institution
• Outpatient service weekdays only (no call on weekends or evenings)
• Largest pain clinic in North Dakota where we see about 1500 patients per month
• Level I Trauma and Comprehensive Stroke Center

Responsibilities

• Provide pain management through procedures, medications, psychology, sleep medicine, physical therapy, integrative health, and nutrition
• Manage medications including non-opioid and opioid for select patients
• Manage patients with intrathecal pain pumps

Compensation

• Annual compensation range of $500,000-$575,000 for the first two years of the employment contract
• Estimated potential to exceed compensation floor from personally performed wRVUs
• $100,000 retention incentive to be paid if you remain a 1.0 FTE for 3 years

Requirements

• BE/BC fellowship-trained Pain Medicine or Interventional Spine physician
• Completion of Pain fellowship and residency in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation, Neurology, Psychiatry, or Anesthesiology is required
• Comfortable with performing a broad range of spine procedures including epidural steroid injections, selective nerve root blocks, and radiofrequency ablations
• Willing to manage patients with intrathecal pain pumps
• Interested in managing pain through procedures, medications, psychology, sleep medicine, physical therapy, integrative health, and nutrition
