The post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) RN cares for patientswho have under gone anesthesia. Thepost-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) RN is responsible for observing and treating apatient postoperation and making sure that they safely awake fromanesthesia. The post-Anesthesia CareUnit (PACU) RN must monitor vital signs and levels of consciousness to makesure that the sedation is wearing off properly, there are no adverse reactionsoccurring and patients are regaining consciousness.
- Current RN licensure in the state in which RN is working.
- One year PACU experience preferred
- CPAN (Certified Post Anesthesia Nurse) or CAPA (CertifiedAmbulatory Perianesthesia Nurse) certification preferred
- ACLS and PALS certification per contract requirements
- Complies with all relevant professional standards ofpractice
- Current CPR if applicable
- Current Health certificate (per contract or stateregulation)
- Must meet all federal, state and local requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age
