PACU Manager (RN)She Recruits is seeking an experienced PACU Manager (RN) to oversee daily operations of a busy Post-Anesthesia Care Unit within a high-performing surgical services division. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for team supervision, workflow coordination, staff development, and operational efficiency. The ideal candidate brings strong perioperative experience, previous management responsibilities, and the ability to lead clinical teams in a fast-paced, patient-focused environment.Role Overview: The PACU Manager is a working manager who leads day-to-day functioning of the department, ensuring adequate staffing, quality patient care, and compliance with departmental goals and organizational standards.
This leader plays a key role in staff engagement, patient experience, and operational alignment across the surgical continuum.Key Responsibilities:Oversee planning, directing, and coordinating staffing assignments to ensure appropriate coverage and departmental productivityReview and approve performance appraisals, establish employee goals, and support staff developmentRegularly review and revise department manuals, policies, procedures, standing orders, and protocolsEvaluate conditions of facilities and take corrective action to resolve issues proactivelyParticipate in Process Improvement initiatives and drive quality enhancement effortsAct as a change agent to support management decisions and organizational goalsMaintain ongoing professional development through continuing education and self-studyParticipate in budget planning, inventory control, and resource managementSupport staff development and foster a positive, collaborative team environmentDepartment Snapshot:18.5 FTEsFull-time schedule, Days, with No WeekendsReplacement openingFast-paced PACU environment within a high-volume surgical programQualifications:Bachelor's Degree in Nursing requiredCurrent RN license in state of practiceBLS and ACLS requiredMinimum 2 years of experience in OR or Day Surgery requiredPrevious management experience required
