Our client, a major manufacturer of polyethylene packaging products —including bags, pouches, shrink film, sheeting, and related flexible materials is seeking an Outside Sales Representative to manage and grow a multi‑state territory. This individual will sell a full product line into diverse markets such as food processing, general manufacturing, beverage, lawn & garden, pet food, and construction films .
Approximately 80% of business is sold direct , with 20% through distribution —and the distributor channel is expanding.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive new business development and expand existing accounts across a large geographic territory.
- Sell polyethylene‑based packaging solutions including films, pouches, bags, shrink film, and sheeting .
- Manage both direct customer relationships and distribution partnerships .
- Travel up to 50% to effectively cover the region and support customer needs.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure product alignment, service excellence, and account growth.
Qualifications
- Outside sales experience in the packaging industry .
- Experience selling films, pouches, bags, sheeting , or related flexible materials (strong plus ).
- Experience working for or with distributors (strong plus ).
- Ability to travel up to 50% throughout the territory.
- Strong record of new business development , relationship building, and territory management.
- Base salary: Up to $105,000
- Existing book of business: Generates $25,000–$45,000 in commissions
- Performance upside: Additional $30,000–$50,000 expected through new business growth
