Join the AUMOVIO team creating the future of mobility—right here in New Braunfels.The Packaging Engineer for Aurora designs and develops packaging materials, solutions and processes to meet product and marketing requirements, customer needs and manufacturing capabilities.Core ResponsibilitiesDesign and develop packaging materials, solutions and processes to meet product and marketing requirements, customer needs and manufacturing capabilities.Responsible for all approvals and improvements of supplier packaging during SCRResponsible for all approvals and improvements of Customer packaging during NPLDrive continuous improvement on packaging designs (cost, quality, density, stack ability) and standardization on customer & supplier sideStandardization of sizes & variants of all packaging materials (cardboard, totes, pallets, etc.)Planning and review of total cost of packaging material (budget planning)Key contact and support for all topics regarding packaging for plant NBTEntry point for packaging topics for BA, NPM PUR & SCMASupplier management of packaging suppliersDevelop and maintain strong working relationships across the supply chainEffectively communicate across a wide variety of internal and external customers – crisp, clear, continuous communicationSystems – utilize and maintain systems (SAP, Supply On, Customer portals, etc.)Maintain awareness of trends and technologies at the forefront of packaging.Additional mechanical design work as necessaryMaintains a safe work environment, Maintains professional attire, Continually focuses on departmental effectiveness and improvement opportunities, Effectively communicates with team members, suppliers and multiple levels of management,Maintains the highest level of integrity and treats associates fairly & equitably, Leads by example.Ensure individual and team compliance to established policies and proceduresEmploy various problem-solving techniques (5 Why, etc.) to drive supply chain issues to permanent corrective actionDevelop and follow Standard Work practicesEnsure individual (and assist with departmental) 5S+1, Quality, Delivery, Kaizen and Cost goalsWhat You Bring To The RoleBachelor Degree in a technical discipline or related fieldKnowledge in packaging design or engineeringStrong problem solving skillsGood communication skills: verbal, written and presentationsLegal authorization to work in the U.S. is required.
