Organ Transplant Physician Assistant Or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner

The Organ Transplant Physician Assistant or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner assists, monitors, and manages the day-to-day needs of patients as requested by, in conjunction with, and under the supervision of a physician. Performs the duties and responsibilities of a Physician Assistant according to customary and generally accepted medical standards.

Day/Night hybrid shift

Weekends as needed

Holiday work as needed

No on-call required

Previous transplant or surgical specialty experience preferred.

Responsibilities include providing medical services under the supervision of a licensed physician, performing and documenting accurate, complete, and relevant history and physical assessments, ordering and interpreting laboratory tests and diagnostic studies/procedures, managing general medical and surgical conditions, prescribing medication safely and effectively, promoting Hackensack Meridian Health PA practice recognition, providing patient- and family-centered care, practicing as a healthcare provider according to the rules and regulations, applying evidence-based and value-based medicine, evaluating patient/family transition of care planning, demonstrating clinical expertise, translating best practice into clinical practice, providing culturally sensitive and educationally appropriate health management education, facilitating consistent, coordinated care, serving as an advocate for patients and families, serving as a clinical resource for the multidisciplinary team, participating in organizational and departmental meetings, demonstrating the highest level of accountability for professional practice, promoting a collaborative work environment, mentoring other PAs, precepting students in PA programs, participating in educational programs as a clinical expert, identifying patient/family educational needs, promoting innovation by integrating new clinical knowledge into practice, participating in clinical research activities, identifying ethical care issues, complying with HMH and department-specific scope of services, policies and procedures, adhering to HMH infection control and safety policies, and other duties and/or projects as assigned.

Qualifications include a graduate of an NLN/AACN accredited nursing program, a master's or doctorate degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program, maintaining clinical competencies through continuing education and clinical practice, experience in a relevant patient care setting, national provider identifier, prescriptive authority through CDS and DEA registration according to New Jersey state law, collaborative agreement with physicians on staff, excellent written and verbal communication skills, proficient computer skills, NJ state professional registered nurse license, advance practice nurse license, BLS AHA basic health care life support HCP certification, board certified by AANP or ANCC, advanced cardiac life support certification, successful completion of an approved physician's assistant program, excellent written and verbal communication skills, proficient computer skills, physician assistant license, national commission on certification of physician assistants, BLS AHA basic health care life support HCP certification, advanced cardiac life support certification.

Compensation minimum rate of $156,644.80 annually. HMH is committed to pay equity and transparency for our team members.
