Title: Part-Time Physical Education Teacher (PK-8)
Reports to: Principal

General Description: St. Edward's Catholic School is seeking a part-time Physical Education teacher who will foster a positive, faith-filled environment while helping students develop a lifelong appreciation for health, fitness, and teamwork. The P.E. teacher supports the mission and philosophy of the school, follows diocesan and school policies, and collaborates with staff to provide a well-rounded educational experience for all students.
Key Responsibilities

• Create a positive, faith-filled environment that supports student growth and well-being
• Plan and deliver engaging, active, and developmentally appropriate physical education lessons
• Promote sportsmanship, teamwork, and positive conflict resolution
• Teach skills related to physical fitness, movement, and health using a variety of instructional strategies
• Ensure maximum participation and differentiate instruction so all students experience success
• Maintain effective classroom management and a safe learning environment
• Organize and prepare equipment and instructional materials
• Monitor student progress and provide feedback to support growth
• Collaborate with colleagues and communicate professionally with staff, students, and families
• Supervise students and ensure their safety at all times
• Participate in professional development and school initiatives
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the principal

Qualifications

• Passion for working with children and promoting health and wellness
• Strong classroom management and organizational skills
• Ability to create an inclusive and engaging environment for all learners
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills; positive and supportive team member
• Teaching certification preferred, but not required

Schedule
This is a part-time position with a flexible schedule, to be determined in collaboration with the principal. The position is approximately two half-days per week and includes compensation for preparation.
