Outside MachinistLocation: Goose Creek, SCJob Type: Full-TimePay Range: $35.00/hourPer Diem: $120/day (Non-Local Employees Only)Bonus: Hire BonusOverview: We are seeking an experienced Machinist to support precision manufacturing and machining operations in Goose Creek, SC. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience operating manual machine tools, interpreting technical drawings, and producing high-quality components to exact specifications. This position requires strong attention to detail, precision measurement skills, and a commitment to quality and safety.ResponsibilitiesSet up and operate manual and precision machine tools, including lathes, milling machines, shapers, planers, and precision grindersInterpret blueprints, sketches, and engineering specifications to determine machining sequences and setup requirementsCalculate dimensions, tooling requirements, feeds, and speeds using standard shop mathematicsMeasure, mark, and lay out stock for machining using precision measuring instrumentsUtilize machinist hand tools and inspection equipment to ensure parts meet exact tolerancesFit and assemble precision components into mechanical equipmentDetermine materials, parts, and tooling required for productionModify and adjust numerically controlled (NC) programs as neededMonitor and verify product quality in accordance with statistical process control and quality proceduresMaintain a safe, clean, and organized work environmentFollow all company safety policies and manufacturing proceduresQualificationsMinimum five (5) years of related machining experienceStrong blueprint reading and technical interpretation skillsProficiency with precision measuring instrumentsExperience with NC/CNC programming modifications preferredStrong problem-solving skills and attention to detailHigh School Diploma or GED requiredCompletion of a formal apprenticeship or equivalent technical training preferredMust be a U.S.
