Outside Machinist 2nd Shift

MachinistTransport and set up tools, machinery, and fixtures to support machining operationsPerform machining operations using equipment such as: portable milling machines, clamshell lathes, line boring systems, grinding machines, hydraulic tensioning systems, as well as various hand and power tools.Take measurements of machined features using precision measuring equipmentProperly and safely select, align, secure, and remove holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials onto machinesRecognize, deploy, and properly use inserts, fixtures, and toolingPerforms mechanical assembly and disassembly of equipment using a variety of hand and power toolsStudies applicable drawings and prints of work to be performed and follows instructionsMust be able to determine the proper tools required to perform given taskOperates and utilizes lifting aids as necessary to perform workCommunicates with customers and government representatives to coordinate work onsiteAbility to track parts and jobs in JobBOSS and TravelersPerform all tasks in a safe and responsible manner while maintaining safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulationsCompletes inspection and as-found condition reports for completed workWork overtime as needed on evenings and/or weekendsOther duties as assignedLathes, grinders, boring mills, planers, portable toolsTurn, drill, tap, bore, hone, polish machine processesLarge part machining experience preferred (ship propeller shafting, ship steering gear, etc.)Must have experience with FANUC equipmentMust have experience using micrometers and calipersQualifications High school diploma or GED 3 to 5 years related experience is preferredLanguage skills - effectively communicate and understand job instructions verbally and written in EnglishAbility to effectively interpret and translate instructions to other employees in a professional and respectful mannerAbility and willingness to learnAbility to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusionsAbility to interpret various technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variablesA strong, proven interest in engineering and mechanical systemsAbility to read and interpret blueprintsAbility to read precision measuring toolsAbility to perform basic mathematical computationsAbility to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situationsAbility to work independently and as part as a teamBasic understanding of Microsoft Word and ExcelJob Type:Full-time Pay: $20.00- $35.00 Per hourAmeri-Force BenefitsAs part of the Ameri-Force team, a recognized ESOP company, you have a personal stake in the collective success of the organization, fostering a collaborative and rewarding work environment.
