nUnder general supervision, t his position will conduct outreach, reproductive health and wellness education to at-risk women, men, teens and partners.
nThis position will assist clients in accessing healthcare and other community resources to address health outcomes. It will c onduct activities to support and promote reproductive healthcare service within Columbus Public Health with linkage to other CPH services and community partners as appropriate. Performs related duties as required.
nThis position is responsible for assisting customers by answering phones, working the public window and filling out clerical paperwork. Primarily assigned to the Vital Statistics Program but may work in any program of Columbus Public Health as needed.
nStarting Pay Range:
n$21.22 to $23.58 per hour

nUrges target citizens to seek professional help and guidance from programs and services;
nFollows up on contacts and submits reports of outreach activities;
nSeeks out individuals throughout the community and speaks with them to become familiar with their problems;
nParticipates in community and neighborhood events and activities calculated to acquaint the residents of an area with services or programs;
nSpeaks before community groups to establish rapport between community and program representatives and to publicize available programs and services;
nArranges transportation for individuals to testing and treatment facilities or other community-based services;
nContacts other agencies and groups to solicit their aid and cooperation with outreach programs;
nLearns to maintain records on individuals who require treatment and/or participate in the programs;
nMay prepare news releases and promotional material concerning outreach programs and services;
nMay need to communicate with individuals who have limited English language skills;
nMay provide child care services that serve to enable clients to receive testing or treatment;
nMay perform on-site visits to businesses to review compliance status and submit written reports on findings;
nMay be assigned to serve as a member of an Incident Command System (ICS) Team, or a similar public health response team which may include the conduct of operations on a 24/7 basis at remote locations. Assignment may include serving as a department and/or community incident commander or on the incident command team.
nMinimum Qualifications
nCompletion of the twelfth school grade. Substitution(s): A certificate of high school equivalence (GED) will be accepted in lieu of the twelfth school grade requirement.
nPossession of a valid driver’s license.
nSome positions may require specialized skills, background, and/or certification due to the nature of, or funding requirements for, the program.
