Description
The outreach advocate is responsible for providing individuals and families who have experienced sexual violence and/or intimate partner violence, support in healing, through active listening, empathetic response, crisis management, creative problem solving and connecting them with community referrals and resources to meet their needs. The outreach advocate establishes and maintains community partnerships and relations to build resilience and to increase capacity to support survivors.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in social work, Psychology, Counseling, or a related field.
- Experience working with individuals and families affected by domestic violence, sexual violence, and/or stalking.
- Knowledge of trauma-informed care principles and advocacy within support systems.
