Outpatient Surgery Coder

The full-time Outpatient Surgery Coder will be responsible for the timely and accurate abstraction of outpatient surgeries across multiple specialties, working remotely while ensuring compliance with coding guidelines and maintaining high-quality standards. Key responsibilities: Utilizes technical coding expertise to review medical records and abstract diagnosis codes with a minimum of 98% accuracy Provides documentation feedback to clients and communicates new billing and coding guidelines to providers Collaborates with operational areas to resolve incorrect claim issues and assists with coding reimbursement assistance Required qualifications: High School diploma or equivalent AHIMA or AAPC Certification - CPC, COC, CCS, or CASCC preferred 2+ years of experience in outpatient surgery coding across multiple specialties Advanced knowledge of ICD-10 CM and ICD-10 coding Proficient in MS Office products such as Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
