Job Summary
Oversees the efficient and effective operation of the physical therapy clinic; develops and administers treatment plans designed to reduce pain, restore function, prevent disability, and support the overall health and fitness of patients; carries out administrative, supervisory, and advisory duties. Connects with and conducts outreach to area businesses to educate them on the benefits of choosing the practice as their provider. Serves as a liaison between PT and community employers, and drives the growth and development of these programs and services. Also serves as a liaison between staff and physicians to meet the needs of the patient.
Job Responsibilities
Plan, organize, and direct the activities of the physical therapy department, including ensuring compliance with governmental and accrediting agency regulations
Deliver skilled physical therapy treatment plans consistent with physician orders and current standards of care by evaluating and interpreting patient assessments and test results
Support continuity of care after discharge by designing home exercise programs, educating patients, recommending or providing assistive equipment, and arranging follow-up programs
Document and maintain clinical and administrative records promptly and thoroughly, covering patient limitations/interventions, treatments, responses, progress, and discharge summaries
Keep all patient records confidential
Log treatment charges daily and complete charge tickets accurately and on time
Help develop and monitor the department's mission, policies, procedures, and goals
Oversee the rollout of programs such as post-offer testing, FCE, and pre-employment screening, conducting testing per standard practice and applicable law
Set a high standard for teamwork, leadership, and professionalism while safeguarding patient confidentiality
Lead strategic planning and marketing efforts to raise the practice's visibility in the community
Administer and comply with all company policies and procedures, including infection control and safety protocols
Ensure department billing and collections follow established guidelines
Guide Physical Therapists, Assistants, and Aides in patient care and related tasks as needed
Ensure department compliance with the Georgia State Physical Therapy Act, codes, and regulations
Maintain a professional appearance and conduct at all times
Adhere to all company policies and procedures
Follow employer work practices outlined in the applicable occupational bloodborne exposure plan
Build and maintain effective working relationships with physicians, staff, and management
Attend meetings as requested
Provide backup support for administrative staff, including answering phones, scheduling appointments, and checking in patients
Job Requirements
Master's degree in healthcare or a related field
Graduate of an accredited physical therapy program
Current Georgia Physical Therapy license, or eligibility to obtain one
Minimum 2 years' experience as a Physical Therapist
Current CPR certification for Healthcare Providers
Working knowledge of CPT and ICD-10 coding procedures
Strong grasp of physical therapy principles and practices
Ability to establish trust with physicians and colleagues
Ability to stay positive in a fast-paced setting
Ability to work both collaboratively and independently
Detail-oriented, with strong organizational and time management skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong sense of discretion and professionalism
