Role: Provides direct patient care in an outpatient oncology setting, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing care according to established standards.
- Promotes patient and family-centered care, educating on illness management, post-treatment care, and medication administration.
- Participates in ensuring patient safety, quality, and regulatory compliance, while engaging in ongoing professional development.
- Develops, implements, and documents individualized care plans in collaboration with patients, families, and the healthcare team.
- Utilizes critical nursing skills to assess physical, psychosocial, emotional, cultural, and spiritual needs, considering patient preferences and barriers to involvement.
- Works in a safety-sensitive environment, maintaining alertness and safe practices at all times.
Qualifications & Skills
- RN license required. Nursing diploma or associate’s degree; bachelor’s preferred.
No prior experience required; <2 years experience preferred. - Chemo certification and previous oncology experience are preferred.
- Strong communication, assessment, and patient education skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
