Schedule : Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.; no weekends, nights, or on‑call duties

Pay Range : $51.05 – $76.60 per hour

Overview

A highly skilled Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) is needed for our outpatient Cardiology practice. The selected clinician will provide patient care under a collaborative, team‑based model, conducting thorough examinations, ordering and interpreting diagnostic studies, and participating in ongoing clinical and research activities.

Responsibilities

• Conduct clinical evaluations and examinations in a clinic setting.
• Apply medical decision‑making skills to determine appropriate patient care plans.
• Collaborate with the medical team when needed for effective team‑based care.
• Order and interpret laboratory studies and diagnostic procedures; explain the necessity, preparation, nature, and anticipated effects of scheduled procedures to patients.
• Perform procedural skills as per department or practice guidelines.
• Participate in basic science and clinical research projects.
• Precept students and/or medical learners as encouraged.
• Uphold AHWFB missions, values, and cultural commitment.
• Perform related duties incidental to the work described herein.

Physician Assistant Requirements

• Graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant Program; Master’s Degree preferred.
• Current North Carolina Medical Board medical license, certified by NCCPA.
• Minimum of two years of experience in a cardiovascular or heart‑failure care environment.
• BLS and ACLS certification required.
• Current DEA registration required to start.

Nurse Practitioner Requirements

• Graduation from an accredited Nurse Practitioner Master’s Program; Master’s degree or higher required.
• Current North Carolina Board of Nursing registered nurse and nurse practitioner license.
• Board certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner by AANP or ANCC.
• Prior nursing experience in a cardiology environment preferred.
• Minimum of two years of experience in a cardiovascular or heart‑failure care environment.
• BLS and ACLS certification required.
• Current DEA registration required to start.
