Outpatient Coder

To support the health information management team, the full-time Missouri Licensed Inpatient Coder will assign diagnosis and procedure codes for inpatient encounters while adhering to regulatory guidelines and collaborating with various departments. Key responsibilities Accurately abstract data elements as required for inpatient coding Stay current with coding conventions, regulatory guidelines, and BJC coding guidance Review and analyze patient encounters to ensure compliant coding and appropriate DRG assignment Required qualifications High School Diploma or GED Certification in coding (CCS, CCA, RHIA, or RHIT) No prior experience required
