Job Description Summary

St. Luke’s is seeking a Clinical Audiologist to provide comprehensive hearing services, including evaluations, testing, and rehabilitation for a diverse patient population.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive hearing evaluation including pure tone air and bone conduction audiometry, speech reception threshold, and speech discrimination.
  • Perform tympanometry, acoustic reflex threshold testing, and reflex decay testing.
  • Administer brainstem auditory evoked response (BAER) testing for identification of hearing loss and ruling out retrocochlear pathology.
  • Conduct infant hearing screening using BAER screener and/or otoacoustic emissions.
  • Perform electronystagmography.
  • Conduct industrial audiometry, including on‑site sound level measurements.
  • Interpret test results and communicate findings orally and in written reports to patients, families, physicians, and other agencies.
  • Recommend further testing, medical follow‑up, or rehabilitation based on results.
  • Provide counseling on rehabilitation/habilitation options and hearing aid services, including comparative evaluation, probe tube assessment, delivery, orientation, follow‑up, and maintenance.
  • Refer patients to other services within SLH (e.g., Speech Pathology) or outside agencies as appropriate.

Qualifications

  • Master’s or doctorate degree in audiology from an accredited institution.
  • Certification of Clinical Competence (CCC‑A) in audiology preferred; Clinical Fellowship Year candidates considered with supervision.
  • Valid Pennsylvania and/or New Jersey license in audiology.
  • Current Basic Life Support certification.

Physical and Sensory Requirements

  • Sitting up to 7 hours daily (0‑2 consecutive hours).
  • Standing up to 6 hours daily (1‑2 consecutive hours).
  • Continuously handling audiometric equipment controls and servicing hearing aids.
  • Frequently lifting and carrying up to 10 pounds.
  • Occasional stooping, bending, squatting, crouching, or crawling.
  • Frequently reaching above shoulder height and extending arms forward.
  • Requirements for hearing, seeing, and speaking to perform tests and communicate results accurately.

Shift Details

  • Full time: 36‑40 hours per week.
  • Part time: 16‑36 hours per week.
  • Per diem: 16 hours or less per week.
  • Locations open Monday‑Friday; hours vary by location.
  • Closed on six major holidays with pay dependent on FTE status.
