Job Responsibilities
- Serve as primary OR first assist for cardiac surgery cases
- Perform endoscopic and open vein harvest
- Insert chest tubes and manage invasive lines
- Assist with conduit retrieval for bypass procedures
- Provide perioperative ICU and floor management
- Collaborate closely with cardiac surgeons and multidisciplinary teams
- Participate in quality and surgical outcome initiatives
Qualifications
- NCCPA Certified Physician Assistant
- Active or eligible for New York State licensure
- BLS and ACLS certifications
- Proven cardiac surgery OR first assist experience
- Vein harvest proficiency required
- Robotic cardiac experience preferred
- Strong clinical judgment and team-oriented mindset
