OT/IoT Business Development ManagerThis Network Engineer role is dedicated to business development and solution architecture, emphasizing the strategic design, implementation, and validation of converged IT/OT network solutions for manufacturing industries. The position centers on pre-sales engagement and collaborative solution creation, working with clients to help them achieve operational excellence, regulatory compliance, and robust network security in their manufacturing environments.The Network Engineer will receive assignments and job duties from the FactoryXT director and division business leaders. The successful candidate will possess excellent communication skills, the ability to effectively interact at all organizational levels, and strong commercial, product/service/solution, and application interest.Reports to: FactoryXT Managing DirectorMinimum QualificationsBachelor's degree in engineering, operations management, information technology, or another field.Experience in network solution architecture, business development, or technical sales within manufacturing and industrial sectors.Business acumen and relationship-building skills to engage stakeholders from the shop floor to executive leadership.Strategic thinking to identify market opportunities and drive innovative, client-centric solutions.Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.Must be at least 18 years of age.Current, valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.Authorization to work in the United States (without requiring work authorization sponsorship by CED now or in the future).Preferred QualificationsAbility to design and communicate secure, compliant, and scalable network solutions for IT and OT systems in manufacturing settings.Strong consultative skills for conducting client architecture reviews and recommending actionable improvements.Project leadership experience in guiding clients through architecture validation and improvement initiatives.Industrial Networking Specialist—Certification highlighting advanced skills in designing, deploying, and maintaining industrial network infrastructures, with a focus on integrating IT and OT systems safely and securely.CISCO Certified Network Associate (CCNA) Industrial—Specialized certification demonstrating expertise in industrial networking concepts and the configuration of industrial networking devices in manufacturing environments.Fortinet NSE 6 - OT Security (as part of the FCSS Secure Networking certification)—Recognized for advanced knowledge in securing operational technology networks and implementing robust cybersecurity strategies within industrial environments.Other relevant certifications such as CompTIA Network+, ISA/IEC 62443, and vendor-specific industrial networking credentials (Siemens, Rockwell Automation) are highly preferred.Strong negotiation skills.Detail oriented.Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite Software.Self-starter who can handle a heavy volume of work and multiple tasks at the same time.Network Engineers in this role operate in dynamic, client-facing environments—frequently meeting with manufacturing clients onsite or virtually to assess, validate, and improve network architecture, compliance status, and security measures.
