About the Opportunity
An established medical center and specialty care group in the Bronx, NY, is seeking a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Orthopedic Surgeon to join their expanding surgical department. This direct-hire position offers a balanced clinical and surgical practice, robust block time access, dedicated physician assistant support, and a collaborative environment designed to support a thriving practice.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive outpatient consultations, surgical evaluations, and non-operative orthopaedic management.
- Perform elective and urgent orthopedic surgical procedures in both hospital OR and ambulatory surgery center (ASC) settings.
- Manage perioperative care, including pre-operative consultations, inpatient rounds, and post-operative follow-up visits.
- Participate in shared departmental call coverage in accordance with facility requirements.
- Collaborate closely with advanced practice providers (PAs), physical therapists, sports medicine physicians, and primary care referral networks.
- Maintain complete and timely documentation within the electronic health record (EHR) system.
Qualifications
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Orthopedic Surgery.
- Active, unencumbered New York State Medical License (MD or DO).
- Active New York DEA registration and Controlled Substance authority.
- Successful completion of an accredited Orthopedic Surgery Residency (Fellowship training in Total Joint, Sports Medicine, or Hand/Upper Extremity is a plus).
- Bilingual capabilities (English/Spanish) are a strong plus in this community setting.
