CHRISTUS St. Vincent, a Level III Trauma Center and the region's only full-service healthcare provider, is seeking a dedicated Orthopedic Surgeon specializing in joint reconstruction to join its expanding team. This role offers the flexibility of full-time or less-than-full-time employment, focusing on delivering exceptional, personalized care through evidence-based practices. - The orthopedic practice is an ACCREDITED CENTER OF EXCELLENCE FOR JOINT HEALTH.
- The role involves managing approximately 24-28 pre-and post-op patients on clinic days.
- The practice utilizes EPIC EMR in all settings.
- The role includes participation in monthly total joint committee membership meetings.
- There is a 1-to-1 physician-to-advanced practitioner ratio.
- Care is provided at the main orthopedic clinic and the main hospital campus, located approximately 2.6 miles apart.
Responsibilities
- Perform surgical procedures specializing in joint reconstruction (ROSA® robots available).
- Design and implement individualized treatment plans, encompassing preoperative and postoperative care, rehabilitation, and patient education.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team to deliver holistic and personalized care.
- Maintain accurate, comprehensive medical records, documenting patient progress, surgical outcomes, and follow-up care plans.
- Participate in light practice call (phone-based) with no hospital visits required.
- Occasionally mentor family medicine residents during their rotations, coordinated by the orthopedic clinic manager.
- Receive referrals from a wide range of sources, including internal organization providers, local emergency departments, urgent care centers, and community partners from across Northern New Mexico.

Shift & Schedule

Requirements
- Medical Degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution.
- Board certification in Orthopedic Surgery with a focus on Total Joint Reconstruction.
- Current and unrestricted medical license.
- Demonstrated excellence in total joint reconstructive surgery through clinical experience.
- Exceptional communication skills.
- Collaborative and pleasant attitude with the ability to foster patient trust and understanding.
- Prefer 2+ years of experience but new graduates will be considered.
