Orthopedic Surgeon

This locum tenens Orthopedic Surgery opportunity at this 283-bed hospital in Eastern Kentucky runs from August 2026 and is ongoing monthly from the 15th through the end of the month. Clinicians will provide comprehensive 24-hour call coverage, handling inpatient and emergency department consultations, clinic duties, and core surgical procedures. The role involves managing 1-3 calls per 24-hour period utilizing EPIC EMR in a Level 4 trauma center setting.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive 24-hour call coverage managing inpatient and emergency department consultations
• Fulfill clinic responsibilities scheduled from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
• Provide surgical call coverage from 4:30 PM to 8:00 AM
• Perform core orthopedic surgical procedures including joint replacements for hips, knees, and shoulders, as well as hand and foot fracture repairs
• Handle potential pediatric cases in the clinic setting
• Manage 1-3 calls per 24-hour period
