Orthopedic Surgeon - Federal Way, WA
St. Francis Hospital is part of Virginia Mason Franciscan Health, one of the largest health care systems in the Puget Sound area. St. Francis Hospital is licensed for 158 beds and provides care to the areas south of Seattle. Candidates should be collegial team players with strong patient and customer service skills, and a passion for excellence.
We are seeking a skilled Orthopedic Surgeon to join our well established, busy practice on the campus of St. Francis Hospital located between Seattle and Tacoma.
The team currently consists of two board certified orthopedic surgeons and two PAs who provide first assist and patient clinic care. Applicants should have an interest in total joint replacements, including hips and knees. Schedule includes clinic, OR, and shared night/weekend call coverage. Current schedule is Monday – Friday 8am‑5pm, with call duties of 1:4.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform pre-operative and post-operative care in clinics
- Perform comprehensive and problem-focused histories and physical examinations
- Interpret laboratory and diagnostic tests in clinics
- Formulate a treatment plan for orthopedic conditions
- Perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures such as aspirations and injections of joints, bursae and cysts
- Apply braces, casts, splints and other orthopedic appliances
- Conduct hospital rounds, write orders, take call and see patients in the ED
Compensation
Compensation Range: $712,582 – $927,947 per year. Starting Salary Guaranteed followed by a wRVU model.

Job Requirements
- Medical Degree
- Board Certified/Eligible (ABOS)
- Total Joint Experience
- A valid and unrestricted Washington State medical license or license-eligible status and DEA with no restrictions
- Ability to take night and/or weekend call
