Job Description
Olympic Medical Physicians’ Orthopaedic team provides emergency and inpatient orthopaedic services to Olympic Medical Center in Port Angeles, on Washington State’s beautiful North Olympic Peninsula. OMP Orthopaedic team seek team-oriented Orthopaedic Surgicalist to provide hospital and ER-based emergency call and follow-up services for this Level III Trauma facility. Highlights of the practice include:
- This on-call position is supported by first-call response by orthopaedic PA-C or ARNP.
- Integrated electronical healthcare record system (EPIC) with local and regional hospital systems
- Robust orthopaedic clinic system for patient follow-up
The successful Orthopaedic Surgicalist at OMP is focused on providing excellent person-centered care to rural patients as part of a multi-disciplinary team. This position is a 0.85 full-time equivalent position.
Education
- Medical degree from an accredited school required.
- Successful completion of an ACGME or AOA approved postgraduate training program in orthopaedic surgery.
- Successful completion of requirements of the ABOS board for certification in orthopaedic surgery.
- Maintains appropriate Continuing Medical Education credits per Washington State and OMC Medical Staff requirements.
Experience
- Completion of orthopaedic surgery residency.
- Two or more years of practice in orthopaedic trauma surgery preferred.
License/Credentials
- Board certified or active participant in the examination process leading to certification (specialty) and area of sub-specialty (if any). Recertifies at appropriate intervals per specialty board requirements.
- Maintains an unrestricted license to practice medicine in the State of Washington.
- Maintains current DEA registration.
- Maintains current BLS certification.
- Maintains appropriate privileges and membership on the OMC Medical Staff.
