General Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon

Our client in Pennsylvania is seeking a General Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon for ongoing locum tenens coverage. This role involves a blend of clinic, OR, facial trauma call, and inpatient consults, complementing an existing 0.7 FTE Oral Surgeon. The position offers an opportunity to work in a Level I Trauma Center with an established support team.

Practice Info

• Complements an existing 0.7 FTE Oral Surgeon
• Clinic approximately 14 patients per day
• Dedicated OR block time
• Level I Trauma Center
• EMR: Epic
• Support Team: 1 Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon, 3 Dental Assistants, Sedation RN currently being recruited

Responsibilities

• Provide ongoing supplemental coverage as a General Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon
• Conduct clinic, OR, facial trauma call, and inpatient consults
• Perform inpatient consults as needed
• Perform Emergency Department consults
• Manage weekend and after-hours facial trauma call
• Participate in approximately 1:3 overnight call rotation
• Provide sole call coverage when assigned
• Manage routine extractions, surgical extractions, and impacted third molar extractions
• Perform facial trauma management, including mandible, maxillary, orbital, and soft tissue injuries
• Manage infections

Shift & Schedule

• 7AM October 24-7AM November 6
• 7AM December 21-7AM January 4
• The entire month of February
• The entire month of May
• The entire month of August
• Monday–Friday Clinic (8:00 AM–5:00 PM)
• Rotating after hours call (5p - 8a)
• OR: Approximately 1 OR day per week with 4 cases per OR day

Requirements

• Pennsylvania Medical License required
• 45-minute response time required for call
• Board Certification required
• Active state license (or ability to obtain)
• Comfortable independently managing facial trauma, clinic, OR, and call responsibilities
