Job Title: Oracle Essbase / Hyperion Planning Developer

Job Overview

• We are seeking an experienced Oracle Essbase / Hyperion Planning Developer to develop, enhance, and support enterprise financial planning and reporting applications. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with Oracle Essbase (BSO/ASO), Hyperion Planning, calculation scripts, business rules, and financial data integrations.
• This role will focus on maintaining application stability, troubleshooting production issues, supporting financial planning processes, and ensuring data accuracy across enterprise systems. The candidate will collaborate closely with Finance, Infrastructure, and Business teams to deliver reliable and efficient Enterprise Performance Management (EPM) solutions.
• Experience with AWS environments and general application maintenance, including patching and infrastructure-related troubleshooting, is Highly preferred.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, enhance, and maintain Oracle Essbase BSO/ASO cubes and financial reporting structures.
• Develop and maintain Essbase calculation scripts, Hyperion Planning business rules, and MaxL scripts.
• Build and support financial data integrations using FDMEE/Data Management, Oracle Data Integrator (ODI), and enterprise ERP systems.
• Troubleshoot data load failures, calculation errors, reporting discrepancies, and integration issues.
• Support Hyperion Planning applications used for budgeting, forecasting, financial planning, and reporting.
• Perform SQL-based data validation, reconciliation, and troubleshooting to ensure data integrity.
• Provide production support, investigate application incidents, and implement corrective actions to maintain system stability.
• Support application maintenance activities, including patching, upgrades, performance monitoring, and issue resolution, as applicable to the environment.
• Collaborate with Infrastructure teams on application availability, environment stability, and technical troubleshooting.
• Participate in production support and on-call rotations as required.
• Work with Finance and business stakeholders to gather requirements, implement enhancements, and support financial reporting needs.

Required Qualifications

• 4-8 years of hands-on experience withOracle Essbase (BSO/ASO) and Hyperion Planning.
• Strong proficiency inEssbase calculation scripts, MaxL, and Hyperion Planning business rules.
• Experience withFDMEE/Data Management or Oracle Data Integrator (ODI)for financial data integration.
• Strong SQL skills for data validation, reconciliation, and troubleshooting.
• Experience supporting enterprise financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting applications.
• Understanding of financial data flows, application dependencies, and production support processes.
• Experience troubleshooting application issues and maintaining data accuracy and system reliability.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with Finance, Business, and Infrastructure teams.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Oracle Cloud EPM, including PBCS or EPBCS.
• Familiarity with EPM Automate for application administration and automation.
• Experience integrating Hyperion Planning or Essbase with Oracle EBS, SAP, or other ERP systems.
• Scripting experience with Shell or Python for automation and operational support.
• Familiarity with AWS environments, particularly application maintenance, patching, environment support, and infrastructure-related troubleshooting.
• Experience working with high-volume enterprise data environments.
• Knowledge of performance optimization, release management, and enterprise application support best practices.

Ideal Candidate Profile

• The ideal candidate combines strong Oracle Essbase and Hyperion Planning development skills with practical production support experience.
• They should be comfortable developing calculation logic, maintaining financial data integrations, resolving complex application issues, and supporting enterprise financial planning systems in a remote environment.

Salary Range: The salary for this position is between $150,000 - $160,000 annually. Factors which may affect pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
