Oracle Application EngineerRandstad is working with a retail firm that is looking to hire a remote contract Oracle Application Engineer to join the Infrastructure & Operations – Application Hosting Services team. As a member of the Oracle application engineering team, you will develop strong and meaningful relationships throughout the Stores and Selling Product ART and Client IT Shared Services. This role will support production and go live activities for Oracle Xstore POS implementations.
This person will be responsible for implementing, adhering to, and advocating for ITIL best practices regards to stores and selling systems. This person should be available to work during the off hour shifts to support the stores.Responsibilities:Xstore Oracle Application support engineer role focuses on operations support, code deployments and rollout issues to ensure consistent delivery of IT services to our business stakeholdersThis support role is responsible for the Oracle XStore POS support that spans entire clientThis engineer will manage upgrades, patches, and support issues as they occurThis engineer will act as a SME supporting L3 and L2 teamsWilling to support and be on the off hours shiftsThis is a highly visible to the business and hands on roleDaily tasks include analyzing diagnostics using Splunk monitoring tool, troubleshooting, addressing Xstore POS software problems during outages and making sure that all the critical Xstore POS technology components are recovered in time and provide technical support to businesses teamsAs well as plan for problematic situations and create procedures to restore systems and their functionalityThis engineer should have sound understanding on Xenvironment and EFTLInkCandidate should have good understanding of Xstore architecture including Lead-Non leadGood understanding of Xstore Office suiteGood understanding about EOD process and as well store opening process for Xstore POSResponsible for coding systems or updating programs by altering code strings (mainly Java) if necessaryShould have high level understanding on client platform footprint that includes Oracle technology products, Exadata, VMware – Linux vm’s, HyperV and windows 10Manage day to day activities such as incidents, problem tickets and change managementEscalate the incidents to leads if you see that issue is not getting attentionCross collaborate with different support teams during any critical incidents, and also owning any of the takeawaysPartner with our third-party support vendor to ensure system stabilityManage the upgrade process to newest version of the softwareProvide customer service to internal and external guests to ensure consistent experienceDocumenting any new issues as the SOP’s for the support teamsEscalate issues in line with company processes to ensure customer demands are metQualifications:Bachelor's Degree8+ years of IT experience implementing different Oracle products (required)5+ years of experience implementing and/or supporting Oracle Xstore (required; key item)5+ of experience on Oracle Weblogic server (required)Solid understanding about Oracle Database 12c/19c/21c (required)5+ years of experience implementing and supporting Oracle E-commerce & MOM suite (plus)2+ years of experience using enterprise software development (preferably Java) (plus)Java software design and/or development (plus)Functional and technical knowledge of Xstore suite version V17 to V21Hands-on experience in planning, testing, and executing upgrades and patchesGood understanding of retail POS processes, including customer facing (sales, returns, promotions, pricing, loyalty, etc.) and back-office functions (cash management, open/close, TLOG, data flow)Communication skills - Must be able to effectively convey technical information to diverse audiencesAdept at reading, writing, and interpreting technical documentation and procedure manualsAbility to present ideas and solutions in user-friendly languageAbility to explain technical concepts to inexperienced users
