Position Summary

Digital Pathology Coordinator – Anatomic Pathology. The Coordinator will support the operation of whole slide imaging systems and software platforms, perform high‑quality scans, conduct quality assessments, and maintain equipment. The Coordinator will work closely with pathology laboratory staff and pathologists to ensure that digital imaging and analysis meet required standards for accurate diagnosis. Reports directly to the Director of Operations, Anatomic Pathology at the Main Campus with dotted‑line reporting to the Assistant Director, Anatomic Pathology at LI.

Job Responsibilities

  • Works in conjunction with Site Managers and Digital Pathology Quality Manager to oversee digital pathology workflow.
  • Operates and maintains whole slide imaging systems and software platforms.
  • Prepares and scans slides for digital analysis.
  • Performs quality control assessments and quality assurance of digital pathology images.
  • Ensures compliance with regulatory guidelines and standards.
  • Collaborates with pathology laboratory and other team members to optimize workflows.
  • Performs data entry associated with digital pathology systems and manages data sets as needed.
  • Troubleshoots technical issues and communicates with technical support teams.
  • Maintains equipment and performs regular maintenance checks.
  • Manages digital slide inventory.
  • Under direction of Operations Manager works on OSR related projects.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in biology, chemistry, or physical sciences from an accredited college or university.
  • Three years of experience working in anatomic pathology.
  • Excellent computer, Microsoft Office (Excel), and presentation skills.
  • Working knowledge of improvement methodology.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Four or more years of experience.
  • Master's Degree, CPHQ/CPPS, Lean or Six Sigma certification.

Communication Skills

Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.

Salary

Salary range: $58,931.00 – $98,218.33 annually. Actual salaries depend on experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. This range does not include bonuses, incentives, differential pay, or other compensation.
