Responsibilities
* Conduct comprehensive eye examinations to assess vision and detect any underlying eye conditions.
* Prescribe corrective lenses or medications as needed.
* Perform specialized tests to evaluate depth perception, color vision, and peripheral vision.
* Diagnose and manage conditions such as glaucoma, cataracts, and diabetic retinopathy.
* Provide pre- and post-operative care for patients undergoing eye surgeries.
* Educate patients on proper eye care practices and the importance of regular eye exams.
* Maintain accurate patient records and ensure compliance with healthcare regulations.
Experience
* Strong knowledge of ocular anatomy, physiology, and optical principles
* Familiarity with vital signs monitoring and aseptic techniques
* Proficiency in electronic health record systems and medical coding
* Understanding of medical terminology, particularly in the field of ophthalmology
* Experience working with pediatric patients is a plus
* Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and commitment to patient confidentiality
