nThe Opportunity
nWe are seeking a Texas-licensed optometrist to provide clinic coverage for a defined four-week period this October at our flagship Midlothian office.
nThis is a physician-led practice. You will walk into a full schedule, a technician team that runs a tight pre-test and workup, and a front office that keeps the day moving. Great culture. No call. No administrative burden. No production quotas.
nThe day is predictable: general eye care, ocular surface disease, and stable post-ops. Opportunity for additional dry eye treatments.
nThe people here are the reason this posting is short. Our staff have been with us for years, they like each other, and they take care of visiting doctors.
nSchedule
n• Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday — October 5, 6, 7 / 12, 13, 14 / 19, 20, 21 / 26, 27, 28
n• 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, with a scheduled lunch break
n• Approximately 15–30 patients per day
n• Full technician support for pre-testing and workup
nCompensation and Terms
n• $10,000 total, contingent on commitment to all 12 scheduled clinic days
n• 1099 independent contractor engagement
n• Professional liability coverage provided by the practice
n• Terms documented in a written engagement agreement prior to start
nClinical Scope
n• Comprehensive and routine eye examinations
n• Refraction, contact lens evaluations and fittings
n• Dry eye and ocular surface disease management — our dedicated dry eye service line includes MeiboFlo thermal treatment and ZEST lid hygiene, with trained staff to run them
n• Diagnosis and management of common anterior segment disease
n• Screening and triage for glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, and cataract
n• Same-day chart closure in Nextech
nRequirements
n• Doctor of Optometry (OD) from an accredited institution
n• Active, unrestricted Texas optometry license, therapeutic and glaucoma certified — required at start date
n• Comfort with routine cataract and refractive post-operative examinations
n• Interest or experience in ocular surface disease strongly preferred
n• Steady, efficient clinical pace with a patient-centered manner
n• New graduates holding an active Texas license are welcome to apply
nWhy This Practice
n• Physician-led.
n• A real dry eye service line with the equipment and staff to support it
n• Strong technician and scribe support; you see patients, not paperwork
n• Modern diagnostic suite
n• Genuine potential for extension or an ongoing arrangement for the right fit
nTo Apply
nApplications are reviewed on a rolling basis and the position will be filled as soon as we identify the right candidate. Given the defined start date, early applicants have a meaningful advantage.
nEqual Opportunity Employer.
