Position Summary
We are seeking a Part-Time Optometrist for a steady, long-term role (2–3 days per week). This position is ideal for a doctor who values autonomy, low-stress patient care, and predictable income. You’ll provide full-scope exams and medical eye care, supported by a trained technician team that performs all pretesting. Your focus will be entirely on patient care.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive eye exams, including medical evaluations (dry eye, red eye, diabetic exams, etc.)
- Diagnose and manage ocular conditions using advanced clinical tools (OCT, retinal imaging, etc.)
- Prescribe glasses and treatments tailored to the patient's needs
- Clearly document findings in the EHR for continuity of care
- Educate patients on eye health and treatment plans in an approachable, trustworthy manner
- Collaborate with support staff to ensure smooth patient flow and timely care
Qualifications
- Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree
- Active New York State Optometry License
- Comfortable managing both routine and medical eye care cases
Schedule & Compensation
- Schedule: 2–3 days per week, 8-hour shifts, 1 Saturday per month
- Compensation starting: $600 per day (commensurate with experience), Large incentive for revenue intake
- Consistent weekly schedule, approximately 16 - 24 hours per week
