Optometrist

Role Description

This is a part-time, on-site Optometrist role based in Los Angeles, CA. The Optometrist will perform comprehensive eye examinations, diagnose and manage ocular diseases, and provide pre- and post-operative care for refractive surgery patients. Daily responsibilities include prescribing glasses and contact lenses, fitting and managing specialty contact lenses, and collaborating with other doctors and staff to ensure coordinated patient care. The role also involves educating patients on eye health, reviewing diagnostic imaging and test results, maintaining accurate clinical documentation, and contributing to a positive, patient-centered practice environment in English and Spanish.

Qualifications

• Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree from an accredited institution and current California optometry license (or eligibility to obtain).
• Clinical expertise in comprehensive eye exams, diagnosis and management of ocular diseases, and specialty contact lens fitting.
• Experience or interest in co-management of refractive surgeries and use of modern diagnostic technologies.
• Strong interpersonal, patient communication, and chairside manner, with a commitment to patient-centered care.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a multi-doctor setting and effectively coordinate with clinical and optical staff.
• Attention to detail in clinical documentation and adherence to professional, ethical, and regulatory standards.
• Familiarity with modern diagnostic technology and electronic health records
• Willingness to support optical department initiatives, including premium product offerings
• Prior experience in a high-volume or medically oriented optometry practice is preferred but not required.
• Available Monday 8:45-5:30PM and/or Saturdays 8:45-1:45PM
