Work is primarily on weekends, with some occasional weekdays. All work is on a part-time "as needed" basis.We provide health readiness services to meet the medical and dental requirements to maintain a deployable military force for the Florida Army National Guard (FLARNG).Duties and Responsibilities:Complete eyewear prescriptions for Soldiers with vision lossDocument findings on Military approved formsSafeguard all patient informationEnsures all actions are in compliance with HIPAA and other appropriate federal and state laws and regulationsSupervisory Responsibilities:This job has no supervisory responsibilities.Qualifications:Doctor of OptometryActive Florida Optometrist license, without restrictionsA valid US driver's licenseAbility to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changes quicklyAbility to work for lengthy periods and perform accurately with adequate speedMust submit no less than two professional references with a resumePreferred Qualifications:Experience working in a Military settingPhysical Demands and Work Environment:Occasionally required to standOccasionally required to walkContinually required to sitContinually required to utilize hand and finger dexterityContinually required to talk or hear?While performing the duties of this job, the noise level in the work environment is usually quietSpecific vision abilities required by this job include: Close vision; Distance vision; Color vision; and Peripheral vision.We are an Equal Opportunity/VEVRAA federal contractor.
