nOptometric technicians are responsible for patient check in, exam pre-test, exam lane testing, exam post-test, patient check out.
nGeneral Accountabilities including but not limited to
nPrep day for success by arriving to shift on time and ready to work
nGreet patients in friendly and welcoming manner
nPatient check in, fee presentation, pre-testing, entrance testing, checking vision, refraction and contact lens fitting, check out
nProperly receiving and accounting for patient payments and copays
nAnswering of phone and scheduling of appointments
nVerifying insurance eligibility
nPlacing contact lens orders and encouraging patients to order through practice
nConducting contact lens training classes with patients
nAssisting physicians in performing any and all procedures/ tests
nEnsuring equipment is functioning properly and contacting store support or management in event of a breakdown
nScheduling referrals
nPerforming simple refractions and contact lens assessments
nEnsuring job is fully completed prior to clocking out of a shift
nStocking and cleaning exam lanes
nCleaning general areas, including break room, bathrooms, floors, common areas
nParticipation in training of new staff members
nParticipation in staff training programs or continuing education events
nDuties may be added or changed at any time
nWeekend availability is mandatory
