nWe are seeking a highly motivated and skilled optician to work independently in our optical shop, which is located in our ophthalmology practice.
nKey Responsibilities
nProvides excellent customer service in all areas of communication to clients, team members, vendors, labs, physicians, by promoting a positive, welcoming, and professional atmosphere.
nPerform precise measurements, fittings, and adjustments to ensure superior comfort and vision quality. Assists patients in selecting frames, lens type, and lens treatments including tints and coatings, specific to each client.
nKeeps current on company/industry products and procedures, manufacturer rebates, and types of lenses and frames available.
nTakes and returns patient calls, updating patients on the status of their order and resolving order issues should they arise. Escalates any issues with the leadership team, as necessary.
nDispenses glasses by inspecting the product, checking for proper fit, and patient comfort. Using various tools, performs eyewear adjustments and repairs.
nCreates work orders for lab technicians, specifying information on lenses needed.
nCutting and grinding of lenses on site as needed.
nIs highly organized with strong attention to detail. Manages all areas of inventory and provides reporting for frame accountability.
nReceives customer payments, is experienced with insurance, credit card machines, calculating discounts, rebates and ensuring money received balances each day.
nProficient in using tools such as pupilometers, PD Sticks, lensometers, pliers, wrenches, frame warmers, etc.
nCleans and organizes frame boards, displays, mirrors, work area, maintaining overall cleanliness and visual appeal of the store.
nPerforms other duties as needed and as assigned by leadership team.
nQualifications
nLicensed Optician
nMinimum of 2 years work experience as an optician.
nStrong knowledge of optics, lenses, and frame adjustments
nPrevious experience working independently overseeing all aspects of an optical
nExcellent communication and customer service skills
nDetail-oriented with a commitment to precision and quality.
