We are seeking a knowledgeable, personable, and detail-oriented Optician/Optical Technician to join an eye care practice. This position will assist patients with eyewear selection, measurements, lens options, frame fitting, and other optical services while providing excellent patient care.

Born and raised in the heart of the Mississippi Delta, Heather's story is rooted in strong Southern values, a deep work ethic, and a passion for helping others succeed. In 1998, she moved to Brandon, Mississippi, where she graduated from Northwest Rankin High School before continuing her education at Hinds Community College. There, she earned a degree in Early Childhood Development, laying the groundwork for what would become a dynamic and multifaceted career path.

Heather currently resides in Brandon, Mississippi, with her husband and their three children. A dedicated sports mom, she spends much of her free time on the sidelines of baseball and softball fields, cheering on her kids and embracing the strong sense of community that comes with it.

Optician / Optical TechnicianJob Summary
We are seeking a knowledgeable, personable, and detail-oriented Optician/Optical Technician to join an eye care practice. This position will assist patients with eyewear selection, measurements, lens options, frame fitting, and other optical services while providing excellent patient care.
Responsibilities
- Assist patients in selecting frames and lenses based on prescription, lifestyle, and preferences
- Measure patients for proper frame and lens fitting
- Interpret and accurately process eyeglass prescriptions
- Explain lens materials, coatings, options, and pricing
- Take and record optical measurements
- Adjust, fit, and repair eyeglass frames
- Assist with dispensing completed eyewear
- Verify orders for accuracy before dispensing to patients
- Submit and process optical orders with laboratories and vendors
- Assist with insurance verification and optical billing
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation
- Keep optical displays and inventory organized and stocked
- Provide excellent customer service throughout the eyewear purchasing process
- Maintain a clean, professional, and welcoming optical area
- Work closely with optometrists, ophthalmologists, technicians, and front-office staff
- Previous optician, optical technician, or eyewear experience preferred
- Experience in an optometry or ophthalmology practice is a plus
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Comfortable working with computers and optical/medical software
- Ability to understand and work with eyeglass prescriptions
- Strong math and measurement skills
- Professional, friendly, and patient-focused demeanor
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
