Ophthalmologist

Overview
The physician will provide ophthalmology services for Alameda Health System, under employment from Alameda Health Medical Group. Services will be on-site at Highland Hospital, San Leandro Hospital and Alameda Hospital.
Duties & Essential Job Functions
- The candidate will possess excellent medical skills. The area of subspecialty expertise required will depend on the needs of the Division. The surgical scope of the position will also be determined by the needs of the Division.
- The candidate will need to cover some ophthalmology call to ensure continuous coverage.
- The candidate will need to cover multiple clinical sites around Alameda County, and the specific sites may change over time as the needs of the Division evolve.
- They must be willing to work with medical students, residents and fellows as necessary. Ideally, they would enjoy teaching.
- The candidate should be invested in quality and process improvement for the Division.
Minimum Qualifications
- Education: Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.) is required.
- Minimum Experience: Completion of an approved residency in an appropriate specialty.
- Board Eligible or Board Certified in Ophthalmology.
- Valid license to practice medicine in California.
- Valid Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) Number.
Salary Information
$220.64 per hour
The pay range for this position reflects the base pay scale for the role at Alameda Health System. Final compensation will be determined based on several factors, including but not limited to a candidate’s experience, education, skills, licensure and certifications, departmental equity, applicable collective bargaining agreements, and the operational needs of the organization.
