The Mount Sinai Health System is seeking a Full-Time Ophthalmologist to join its multi-specialty practice in Huntington, Long Island. - Multi-specialty practice with four facilities in Huntington, Nesconset, Bayshore, and Commack
- Role located in Huntington, at a new state-of-the-art facility opened in summer 2018
- Mount Sinai Doctors Long Island offers comprehensive care with 77 physicians across almost every medical and surgical specialty
- Site includes a full imaging center, state-of-the-art accredited office endoscopy center, and on-site Laboratory

Responsibilities
- Diagnose and treat a wide range of eye diseases and conditions
- Perform necessary surgical procedures, including examinations both before and after surgery, and instruct patients on self-care to improve recovery
- Provide health education and counseling and establish preventive health practices
- Initiate laboratory, radiology, and pathology exams and specialty consults as necessary
- Exercise judgment in establishing priorities of medical care and consult with and refer to appropriate specialists for high-risk or complex patients
- Foster a professional, collaborative work environment with all team members and colleagues
- Participate in Quality Improvement (CQI) program and clinical projects for practice improvement when requested
- Provide case management with other health care team members
Compensation
- Compensation range from $300,000 to $400,000 (not including bonuses / incentive compensation or benefits)
- The salary range listed is for full-time employment and does not include bonuses / incentive compensation or benefits
Requirements
- Medical Degree from an Accredited University
- Ability to obtain a New York license
- Board Certification or Board Eligible in Ophthalmology
- Active DEA license and BLS and ACLS certification
- Demonstrated professional competence and integrity and ethical conduct of practice
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, bedside manner and organizational skills
- Patient focused and committed to providing outstanding and compassionate care and service to all patients
- A strong work ethic and desire to participate in a team-oriented, performance-driven Health System
- Strong computer skills and EMR knowledge
