The Mount Sinai Health System is seeking an Ophthalmologist to join its multi-specialty practice in Chelsea, Manhattan. This role involves providing excellent patient care, ensuring quality outcomes, and contributing to patient satisfaction within an outpatient medicine setting. Responsibilities
- Diagnose and treat a wide range of eye diseases and conditions
- Perform necessary surgical procedures, including examinations both before and after surgery, and instruct patients on self-care to improve recovery
- Provide health education and counseling and establish preventive health practices
- Initiate laboratory, radiology, and pathology exams and specialty consults as necessary
- Exercise judgment in establishing priorities of medical care and consult with and refer to appropriate specialists for high-risk or complex patients
- Supervise optometrists from time to time
- Foster a professional, collaborative work environment with all team members and colleagues
- Provide case management with other health care team members
Compensation
- Compensation range from $290,000 to $320,000 (not including bonuses / incentive compensation or benefits)
- The salary range listed is for full-time employment and does not include bonuses / incentive compensation or benefits
Requirements
- Medical Degree from an Accredited University
- Ability to obtain a New York license
- Board Certification or Board Eligible in Ophthalmology
- Active DEA license and BLS and ACLS certification
- Demonstrated professional competence and integrity and ethical conduct of practice
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, bedside manner and organizational skills
- Patient focused and committed to providing outstanding and compassionate care and service to all patients
- A strong work ethic and desire to participate in a team-oriented, performance-driven Health System
