Ophthalmologist

The Mount Sinai Health System is seeking an Ophthalmologist to join its multi-specialty practice in Chelsea, Manhattan. This role involves providing excellent patient care, ensuring quality outcomes, and contributing to patient satisfaction within an outpatient medicine setting. The successful candidate will partner with the world-renowned Icahn School of Medicine, focusing on patient-centered care and an integrated approach to patient care, research, and education.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and treat a wide range of eye diseases and conditions
• Perform necessary surgical procedures, including examinations both before and after surgery, and instruct patients on self-care to improve recovery
• Provide health education and counseling and establish preventive health practices
• Initiate laboratory, radiology, and pathology exams and specialty consults as necessary
• Exercise judgment in establishing priorities of medical care and consult with and refer to appropriate specialists for high-risk or complex patients
• Supervise optometrists from time to time
• Foster a professional, collaborative work environment with all team members and colleagues
• Provide case management with other health care team members

Compensation

• Compensation range from $290,000 to $320,000 (not including bonuses / incentive compensation or benefits)
• The salary range listed is for full-time employment and does not include bonuses / incentive compensation or benefits

Requirements

• Medical Degree from an Accredited University
• Ability to obtain a New York license
• Board Certification or Board Eligible in Ophthalmology
• Active DEA license and BLS and ACLS certification
• Demonstrated professional competence and integrity and ethical conduct of practice
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, bedside manner and organizational skills
• Patient focused and committed to providing outstanding and compassionate care and service to all patients
• A strong work ethic and desire to participate in a team-oriented, performance-driven Health System
