nJob Summary
nWe are seeking a Pediatric Ophthalmic Assistant to join our team! As an Ophthalmic Assistant, you will be responsible for conducting the initial assessment of a patient, including listening to their complaints or concerns, obtaining a relevant medical history, and measuring intraocular pressures, refraction, visual acuities, and more. You will also assist as needed with procedures done by the doctor in-office, help educate patients on eye health and best practices, and maintain an organized, clean work environment at all times. The ideal candidate has strong attention to detail, exceptional customer service skills, and is extremely organized. We are looking for someone who has a passion for helping children of all ages, as well as adults with special needs.
nWork Schedule
nMonday thru Friday
nShifts rotate between 7:30-3:30, 8-4, and 12-7
nOvertime available as our ending time relies more on the doctor finishing all exams rather than a pre-determined exact time
nPrimary office of work is located Cranberry Township, PA 16066 with infrequent travel to Murrysville, PA 15668
nResponsibilities
nGreet patients and gather medical history and relevant information for their visit
nConduct an initial assessment of the patient and record all findings
nAssist in in-office procedures, as needed
nEducate patients on best practice and eye health
nMaintain a clean, organized workspace at all times
nMaintain consumable supplies and re-order as needed
nQualifications
nPrevious customer service experience desired
nPrevious Ophthalmology experience a plus
nStrong customer service skills
nExcellent organizational skills
nExcellent attention to detail
nFamiliarity with basic computer programs, such as the Microsoft Office suite
