Operator III - Machine Operator 2nd Shift, L1

Cake AssemblerSets up and adjusts machinery used to assemble, ice and decorate cakes according to specification sheets for individual products; conforms to Good Manufacturing and Safety practices as outlined by company policy.Essential Functions• Sets up all equipment to proper settings for the line to run to required speeds and to produce the products at consistent quality.• Understands product specification sheet and makes the necessary changes in tools and techniques to finish specified product with minimal supervision in various stages of assembly.• Follows Good Manufacturing Practices by adhering to company policy and keeping work areas and equipment neat and clean on an ongoing basis.• Read and understand production schedule. Prep machines for next product run.• Monitors equipment performance and reports damaged or faulty equipment to supervisor.• Work hand in hand with both the line operator and the icing mixers. Helps in either of these areas when needed.• This position is usually the next step to line lead.

Works with Lead to understand job and assist where needed.• Responsibility to work and act safely in accordance with all policies.• Responsibility to report safety hazards to people or product and comply with all Good Manufacturing Practices.• Performs other duties as assigned by the supervisor.• All employees must keep area clean and be responsible for cleaning during down time, during changeovers and at the end of a shift.• Ensure products meet the requirements of the SQF Food Safety Code by reporting to a leader, supervisor, or manager any instances or conditions that would negatively affect the products quality, food safety, or regulatory requirements.• Back up for this position is other Machine Operators, Line Operator and Production Lead.• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.Qualifications (Education/Experience)• High School diploma or equivalento Basic Math skillso Must be able to read and write Englisho Basic computer skills and ability to operate scanner gun• Demonstrates manual dexterity• Ability to perform repetitive motions on a regular basis• Ability to work in a fast paced environment using both hands, lifting arms and reaching over the head, frequent bending/stooping with occasional walking and lifting/moving up to 50 lbs.• Must be able to stand and walk for a full shift• Must be able to work over 40 hours per week and 8 hours per day- ability to work overtime is required• Mechanical aptitude a plus.• Must be able to tolerate potential allergens: peanut products, egg, dairy, gluten, soy, seafood, and shellfishHours: 1:55pm-10:00pm
