Heavy Equipment Operator
This role is required to travel to various project sites as assigned.
The Heavy Equipment Operator, as a minimum, must be capable of performing the following tasks:
- Perform daily service inspection of the equipment and complete the daily logs.
- Perform daily mechanical inspection of the equipment and complete the daily logs.
- Perform daily rigging inspection and complete the daily logs.
- Perform field adjustments to the equipment.
- Know how to read a load capacity chart.
- Ensuring the fire extinguisher is in the rig and properly working.
- Know standard hand signals.
- Ensure all safety equipment is in operating condition prior to use.
The levels of Heavy Equipment operation in this company and the requirements thereof are as follows:
Level I
- Multiple heavy equipment operator, skilled with every type.
- Fully understand the operational capacity of the equipment to be operated.
- Demonstrated in the past the ability to maintain the equipment.
- Demonstrated in the past the ability to work safely.
- Have the tools of the craft.
- Can instruct and train others.
Level II
- Basic knowledge and training of equipment operation.
- Skilled in the operation of loader or track-hoe or both.
- Demonstrates ability to maintain equipment.
- Demonstrates ability to work safely.
- Have the tools of the craft.
