Heavy Equipment Operator

This role is required to travel to various project sites as assigned.

The Heavy Equipment Operator, as a minimum, must be capable of performing the following tasks:

  • Perform daily service inspection of the equipment and complete the daily logs.
  • Perform daily mechanical inspection of the equipment and complete the daily logs.
  • Perform daily rigging inspection and complete the daily logs.
  • Perform field adjustments to the equipment.
  • Know how to read a load capacity chart.
  • Ensuring the fire extinguisher is in the rig and properly working.
  • Know standard hand signals.
  • Ensure all safety equipment is in operating condition prior to use.

The levels of Heavy Equipment operation in this company and the requirements thereof are as follows:

Level I
  • Multiple heavy equipment operator, skilled with every type.
  • Fully understand the operational capacity of the equipment to be operated.
  • Demonstrated in the past the ability to maintain the equipment.
  • Demonstrated in the past the ability to work safely.
  • Have the tools of the craft.
  • Can instruct and train others.
Level II
  • Basic knowledge and training of equipment operation.
  • Skilled in the operation of loader or track-hoe or both.
  • Demonstrates ability to maintain equipment.
  • Demonstrates ability to work safely.
  • Have the tools of the craft.
